Is integrity dead: actions speak louder than intent and rhetoric.

integrity

People love to talk, brag, boast, posture, rant, lecture, adise etc.. whether it’s political philosophy, religion, or simple rhetoric regarding a certain situation. It doesn’t matter how well read you are, how good a game you talk, how often you go to church actions will always speak louder than words. Just because legislation is in place it doesn’t stop people being sexist, racist or homophobic. Just what will career people do to advance – will Leveson stop journalists sourcing a scoop – lets face it the public desire for filth, scandal and gossip drives the media. How often will someone stab another in the back in order to advance in work / society.

Just what do you do to help make your local area a little better to live in, or make a person’s life a little more tolerable. Fuck giving to charity as that is a real cop out for those with money, a simple hello to a stranger (cliche’d I know) can initially make someone’s day a little better. The best of it is, its doesn’t cost any money – actually physically doing something, no mater how little doesn’t have to cost any money – it’s something that the fucking rich cannot take away from us – they can take away our integrity though. It’s the one thing that you can give your children no matter what your income!

When you lie, waiting for the sandman to come, just think about any positive differences that you made for your local area today no matter how small.

You need to put out the fire in your own back garden before you can tackle the world!

integrity, peerage, wiggins

In this day and age when people write their autobiography in their teens that simply details how they wrote their autobiography, peerages have become even more of a joke as you can only get one if you were an entertainer, sportstar or paedophile – sorry no need to bring ‘Uncle Jimmy’ into it now.

Sir Wiggo – what a fucking joke – oh how the nation cheers as he is our favourite thing until the royal parasite is born. Lets face it all he did was ride a bike extremely well for a long time – just to clarify is there a clause that it gets stripped if he loses just like Olympic funding! Oh he is an inspiration you others, you can be want you want to be etc etc. Bollocks Most people can’t afford to take the chance on attempting to be what they want ley alone being presented with the opportunity.

The New Year Honours system has been a joke for a long time and for those who took it seriously are having it’s value seriously undermined year by year. The only people ever named with true integrity are those who tell them where they can stick it!

Who stole our integrity?

class conciousness, integrity, Thatcher, working class

I have always blamed Thatcher for changing the face of British society as we know it; greed and selfishness took over from pride and integrity. Over the last couple of decades all we have thrown at us is the importance of material possessions: clothes, cars, houses – be all you can be and fuck anybody who says you shouldn’t. The simpler things in life have been forgotten, by simply being content with what you have. Why must we always strive for something that is always constantly changing – fashion, technology it’s all out of date by the time we get it. Life can move so fast if you don’t stop and take it all in it can pass you by (I can’t remember where that quote came from).

Thatcher taught that you should simply take what you want, but what about social responsibility for those whose circumstances are less fortunate than you (there is always someone worse off than you. Do we look the other way when someone needs help or do we ask them what they need. Thatcher encouraged social responsibilty to be broken down – why should I give a fuck about someone I don’t know – because you can. People used to be proud to be working class, now many suffer from a bad back suffering from the burden of their class conciousness. The irony is that many middle class people strive to call themselves working class in a hope it gives them some sort of integrity whilst most of us just want to earn an honest days pay to meet our needs.

Watching the protests of the recent years and it’s great to see anger spill out the streets to remind everyone that certain things are not acceptable, but what do people do on a personal scale. I want to change the world but Portland Road will do for a start

integrity, Notts Forest, steve mcclaren

Like a lot of people I have never been a fan of Steve McClaren, and it was only time before his woeful reign at Forest would come to an end; but despite the amount of greed that engulfs the football world, he is walking away without a penny. Yes I’m sure he doesn’t need it but it doesn’t stop many other people from getting “only what they are entitled to”.

Fair play Mr McClaren.
