Whilst there will be immense press coverage of Bob Crow sudden death, and quite rightly so, spare a thought for Michael Abbott who died a couple of days ago. Both were committed to ensuring that workers were treated fairly and equally under unscrupulous employers throughout the years.
The best tribute to Mick Abbott is perhaps the bulging dossier compiled on him for more than 40 years by the clandestine blacklisting organisation, the Consulting Association, which was financed by the big construction companies.

If you read the battles Michael Abbott had, and the battles Bob Crow was having, there is one consistent theme – whenever their is an opportunity employers will always try and screw the workers. The unions are an important part of the workplace environment, although many places of work will try not to recognise them.
