>The Serbian Movie

>

I came across a review of this film while investigating why ‘The Human Centipede 2’ had been refused a certificate – even with cuts. (I admit I haven’t even seen Human Centipede).

The Serbian Movie appears to be in the same genre as exploitation films such as ‘I Spit on Your Grave’ and ‘Last House on the Left’, and explores theme of rape, torture and paedaphillia. I have had discussions with several people and the question that comes up[ is why?

Why would anybody want to watch something that shows extreme degredation and humiliation, not to mention small children? Why would anyone want to make a movie like this? How did anyone come up with this idea? Am I getting too old and just don’t appreciate films that push the boundaries of acceptable images?

When you listen to arguements of convicted paedaphiles they see nothing wrong in what they do and blame society. Does this film push boudaries or is it making adding to the acceptance that nothing is out of bounds.

Will I watch it – have you seen the Ring?
