Michael Gove has found a new tactic of breaking the Teachers’ Unions, get the parents in. As most parents aren’t qualified teachers one can assume that the only agenda is to undermine the teachers actions.
Ideally no-one wants to strike (you lose a days money) so they are not doing it for the good of health. The teachers I know generally care about all the children they teach and wouldn’t do anything to undermine the childrens education unless they felt there was no other course of action.
Every parent wants a good school for their kids, and it is the teachers that make that school what it is. To take away the one great benefit of working in the public sector, their pension may mean that job is no longer as attractive. People should be careful what they wish for when they demand change – is it change that will benefit society or is just a snied reaction to the belief that they are better off than you. I for one fully support the action on Thursday and suggest others do the same.
