>When people get involved with local groups with a view of local politics, I wonder what their ideal scenario is? Do people aspire to have a nice middle class area where everyone goes to the local pub with their children, guardian in hand, order a bottle of wine and a smoothie ( I assume the smoothie is for the child), or do we aspire to be a area where everyone can afford to send their children to school with a packed lunch or afford to give their children fruit for the week. Whilst many people aspire to have many of the perceived luxuries that are promoted to us, we forget that a lot of people cannot afford the basics.
