Support the Arts – Death to commercialism

I went and saw one of my favourite bands, Primus, on Wednesday and it made me question as to how bands that are trying to push boundaries get their music heard. There were always shows like the Old Grey Whistle Test, The Tube, Snub TV etc that had pride in giving new experimental stuff a chance. Jools Holland is the only show that has any merit but this still fails to push boundaries. The music press has changed, gone are Melody Maker & Sounds (they were always more alternative than NME) but nothing that I know of has replaced these.

Beak>, who are fantastic, have just been played to me and I shall be getting more of their stuff.. Any bands that people know of that they think push boundaries, or are slightly different to the norm that you hear on the Radio please post them here.

Just to give you an idea of what I’m looking for I have posted a clip of Les Claypool playing his ‘Whamola’.
