It looke like the end for Colonel Gaddafi. The rebels have stormed Tripoli without much resistance, and although there is still pockets of pro Gaddafi supporters (why?), it looks like the dictator will have to run and hide or face prosecution for war crimes. It is going to be interesting to see how the rebels, once they have fully conquered Libya, take stock and begin planning for the future. Surely after years of dictorial rule they will be hesitant in putting to much power in any individual hands. One thing is sure the people will rejoice that they have finally got rid of their flamboyant dictator.
I’m certain every country will be queing to ally with the rebels in an attempt to influence the way the new regime will be restructured; China have already stated that they will begin commerce with the rebels once everything has died down (with a view to spreading communism?). Cameron will be there with Hague, applauding themselves for coming down on the right side and talking about trade agreements with the new governments. This is an ideal opportunity for people to turn their backs on traditional and formulaic styles of Government, and try and run the country by themselves for themselves.
Where will Gaddafi go – my view is he will be secretley shipped out by the CIA, and left to live his life in relative luxury as reward for past services rendered!
