Many believed that when Major agreed to enter the EU in 1992 (I was at the joining party and have a wonderful photo of John Major coming out of the Gents looking very startled!), it ruffled many of the back benchers feathers that it signed his death warrent.
Now Cameron has put a block on an EU policy in order to protect the city of London from far reaching financial restrictions (poor bankers that must be up at night with worry) which probably means they wanted to curb the corporate greed culture that has overshadowed us for far too long. Hopefully there will be a backlash within the Lib Lab coalition that will see the end of the party for privelidge.
