In notes that have been released today, it has come to light that Thatcher and Whitelaw discussed letting Liverpool destroy itself at the height of the Toxteth riots in the mid 80’s. They also discussed that it would be easier to arm the police then put the army on the streets.
You can tell she was an leader full of empathy. My wish for next year still stands (see yesterday’s post).
