All the politician’s seen to recognise that capitalism in it’s current state isn’t working, and David Cameron has even announced it should be fairer……..but fairer for whom. His talk of cooperatives is of the right rhetoric but I don’t think he means that all the workers will equally share the business, capitalism will still dictate that workers will only get as little as possible (work 5 years and you to can have 5 shares worth £20), its not exactly going to change the world. Capitalism doesn’t work, it will eventually turn and devour even those who have attempted to nurture it; it’s nature in essence is not about fairness or equality.
China on the other hand have become one (if not the) most powerful country in the world, and have now bought 8% of the shares in Thames Water. Western Society has fought so avidly against any non capitalist society, but now the realisation is dawning that perhaps the west wasn’t so great after all.
When Russia broke up, many historians stated that history had finished (using the marxist analysis that history is purely about the history of class struggle), capitalism had won……………but wait who is that waiting in the wings!
Oh how we laughed when the rich were forced onto the streets!
