Well if you read / listen to David Cameron’s new remarks it would appear so. Mr Cameron will use a speech to the Business in the Community conference to say business provides jobs and promotes community cohesion.
In recent months we’ve heard some dangerous rhetoric creep into our national debate that wealth creation is somehow anti-social, that people in business are out for themselves. We have got to fight this mood with all we’ve got. Not just because it’s wrong for our economy because we need growth and jobs, but because it’s wrong for our society. Business is not just about making money, as vital as that is. It’s also the most powerful force for social progress the world has ever known.
Is greed no longer enough for the Tories, is Cameron suggesting that business become like the Crusades; Cameron the Lionheart (or no heart) slaughtering all non believers as he pushes the message far and wide. You can see Tom Cruise playing the lead role in a few years.
Or is is simply that as most of the Tories probably sit on the boards of big business’ they are worried they might not get a pay out?
Either way Capitalism is like a disease, that has a cure which is prevented from being released in order for the few to control the many.
