I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but all the people that are demanding a reduction in the tax for the rich are, how do say, already rich! As I said I don’t want to cast any doubt on the integrity of the letter but I’m pretty certain that if you ask those who have been made redundant, if they felt that if the rich were taxed less they would still have a job. Apparently it is 1% that contribute to 28% of income tax – is that all I say, fuckin whack it up so they pay over 50% of income tax and gice tax breaks to those who are struggling to actually feed their kids – no they don’t all spend there money on sky TV Edwina An actual tax drop would probably only benefit a few anyone, as I’m sure most of the crooked bastards have got thousands in their dogs name in some offshore account.
SIR – Given the state of the British economy, we urge George Osborne, the Chancellor, to consider scrapping the top rate of tax in his forthcoming Budget. The tax, which is in effect a 58p tax after national insurance is taken into account, puts wealth creators like us in a very awkward position.We believe the richest should help the poorest in society. One per cent of taxpayers are already responsible for 24 per cent of income taxes. But penalising high earners through an unfair, politically motivated tax puts populist politics before sound economics. The 50p tax is set to reduce government income, and damages the economy, the public services and charitable giving. As business people, we want to see our industries, our economy and the Third Sector thrive. Repealing the 50p tax would demonstrate the Chancellor’s wish to celebrate British entrepreneurialism, stimulate industry and contribute to the Government’s growth agenda. The sooner the top rate of tax is repealed, the better.
It is quite ironic that the letter is published shortly after American research was released to evidence that the more money you have the bigger cunt you become – is that why expensive cars don’t have indicators? What fucking arrogance to issue a letter stating that attacking the rich has a detrimental affect on everybody – or is it a veiled threat; yet when Len suggests civil disobedience during the Olympics to highlight the disperity between the rich and the poor, they will be chastised as being unpatriotic.
