I have long been a fan of Ted Chippington since my friend, Gemma Hastilow, introduced me to his humour. What a life changer, comedy has never been the same again since hearing the droll delivery of non-jokes. The single Rockin’ with Rita never left the turntable for many years and The Wanderer (no I’m not the Wanderer I don’t like wandering around) is a timeless classic.
I pity those who know me because I have just got my hands on ‘Waliking Down the Road’. a compilation of Ted’s work funded by a benefit gig by the likes of Stuart Lee and Phil Jupitus. Unlike his contempories and those before him he didn’t go to Oxbridge – a born and bred down to earth midlander.
Lets raise a glass of cheer to Ted Chippington.
