Yes we are all in it together, how can the Govt expect anybody to curb their spending, when the departments set up to control overspending in the Govt overspend themselves. As usual with most politicians it is pot and kettle. Where is this 500m going to come from. The Govt are very quick to point out that they were left in a mess by the previous Govt and that is the reason for whatever policy they are trying to justify; just like smacking a child or beating your wife and then blaming them for making you do it, a cowards way of trying to justify what you are doing. What they all have in common is that it doesn’t work or achieve what you want it to.
The policies to fix this country are meant to be for our own good but they aren’t working, and to make it worse there is the arrogance that the Govt are all pretending that they do! It’s easy to run society when there isn’t a need for you to live in it! I’m no economist (I only got a D at A level) but I’m pretty certain in order to revive a dying economy people need to spend, and the market needs to bring prices down to meet the difficult need. Currently markets are being kept artificially high due to the oil prices – cap them, making the rest up by stopping people becoming public limited companies and pay proper tax.
