Private papers from Thatcher’s archives were released today which reveal how she believed that the miners would never back Scargill if he took on the Tories as they were ‘reasonable people’. Oh the irony, the miners were reasonable people and just wanted to protect their livelihood, it was Thatcher who proved just how callous she could be and there were no depths she would not sink to destroy the miners.
Perhaps that’s why she also sent Christmas cards to Colonel Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein, in hope on getting tactics to crush opposition!
