Last Saturday I was asked to play the music at the school fete as well make the announcements, little did they know what was instore.
I started off by lulling them into a false sense of security by playing ‘safe’ tracks from a Now compilation – then POW – Jah Wobble and the Chines Dub Orchestra – fantastic.
other tracks I got away with were Max Romeo – War Inna Babylon, Faith No More – Spanish Eyes. It all went down well – hopefully the kids got an education in music rather than the dross that gets aired commercially.
