The hidden costs of the benefit cap.

Its all well and good the Government capping housing benefit, which instantly smacks of social cleansing in the perceived prestigious areas. Apart from the obvious creating them and us mentality – did this ever go away – it has far more reaching consequences, that will have major impact on the country’s future.  

Yesterday I found out that approximatly 17,000 families have been forced to move to Croydon as a result of Westminster, Battersea, Chelsea, Kensington etc capping their benefits. Now there are potentialy 17,000 children that need to find a local school place. Either schools need to be expanded or children have to travel, either way education will suffer.
