We all know that Thatcher took away the free milk for schools, but do people know that prior to this she was part of a chemical research team that discovered a method of doubling the amount of air in ice cream. This allowed manufacturers to use less of the actual ingredients, thereby reducing costs, but I don’t remember this being marvelled as a way of making ice cream cheaper for the public.
