Now that’s something to have on your CV if you are that way inclined. The laptops were left overnight in the Norman Shaw Buildings, located next to Portcullis House in Westminster. Formerly the Metropolitan Police headquarters the buildings are just a short walk away from the House of Commons, and are meant to be the most secure building in the country.

Harriet Baldwin, whose laptops have been stolen has said

You have to walk past policemen with sub machine guns to get into it

Now I don’t know a lot about burlgalry but I know the aim is not to get seen or recognised. Is Harriet suggesting that somebody with a striped jumper and a bag labelled swag, tipping their cap to the officers on duty as they calmly walked past?

Or perhaps nobody was on duty because all coppers had been assigned to the jubilee?
