I have been looking forward to watching the BBC 3 part documentary ‘Lefties’, and became extremely disappointed and disillusioned. I have always heard of Villa Road squats in Brixton, but if the programme is to be believed, it was started and by middle class oxbridge graduate idealists. The documentary has interviews with many of the original squatters, all appear to now have very nice jobs and a wealthy healthy lifestyle.

Is this really a true reflection or lazy journalism by the BBC, it may have got better but I switched it off in disgust after 20 mins, especially when one was talking about  how life was hard, even though his family were filthy rich, sitting by his swimming pool!

Is the only way to get change through those idealists who have chosen an alternate path to career and wealth?
