As you hear about all the stories of potential olympians struggling to find sponsorship, Zara Phillips literally trundles along in a horsey/campervan worth an alleged 1/2 million pounds – it even has a granite worktop. It shouldn’t suprise me really as you don’t see the average working class person taking up equestrian events as a hobby. As my friend says it’s the horse that does all teh work so they should get the medal, unless he was calling Phillips a horse I’m not quite sure.

It will be quite interesting to see the class make up of all the medal winners – how many Etonian Oxbridge will win gold to those coming from your average state school. The opening ceremony showing the history of working britain so it could quite be ironic if all our medal winners are people with privelidged backgrounds.
