The Julian Assage debate has shown one thing and that is there are still many men that see women as inferior. The distasteful comments about rape and its consequences from many leading figures show that attitudes towards women are still in the dark ages. Ken Clarke was also in trouble last year for suggesting that certain rape cases are less serious then others.
The days of ‘old school networks’ needs to end, and with it an end to ‘old school’ views. Maybe once a certain generation has died off (the ones that allowed Bernard Manning to become famous, and still fund Chubby Brown’s career) perhaps society can move on.
