I remember in the mid 90’s attending two nights on a regular basis, The Far Side at the George Robey in Islington, and nights by The Fly – usually on some warehouse floor in Dalston. Both nights were very DIY (bouncers had guns in Dalaston) but the atmosphere was electric and the music was something different than all the commercial stuff that was doing the rounds.
