McAlpine’s lawyers are reported to have found 1,000 ‘original’ tweets and a further 9,000 retweets, and intend to prosecute the offenders, including comedian Alan Davies and Sally Bercow, the Speaker’s wife.
Yes it was wrong, but speculation was always going to be rife especially the way it all played out. If McAlpine is going to use the courts to make a landmark judgement, lets ensure that it covers to protect those who are victims of cyber bullying but don’t have McAlpine’s financial clout and stature to protect themselves.
This is a chance for him to use this issue to try and solve a greater issue. Let’s see how big of a man he is!
