With the talk of statutory regulation for journalists and newspapers, and continues legal action against social media sites – is there really free speech, or can laws be twisted and distorted to prevent anything being published as long as you have the money to do so.

Music has always been away to pass comment as artistic license can be argued in many cases – the difficulty is that it is near impossible to hear anything different let alone poliyical, without wading through all the dross on the internet. The independent record labels have virtually died, and radio has become so commercial so I don’t waste my time; I would have thought somebody would have tried to step into the massive gap left by John Peel.

Where have all the protest singers gone? Or does everybody want to win X Factor?
