The image is always presented that America is the leader of the free world, and Thatcher created the ‘special relationship’ with Reagan in the eighties, Blair courted Clinton and Cameron just makes a bumbling idiot of himself..but why.

The 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination, and all the programs surrounding it, brought home that about 60 years ago, America still had segregation, and probably still would if the south had there way; in fact probably would still have slavery if it wasn’t for Lincoln. America is not a melting pot but an assemble of segregation, both socially and politically that somehow have managed not to break into civil war again and have self proclaimed themselves as a shining example for all to follow.

Whilst Britain still continues with a class war, America will always have its issue with race; class is not so much of an issue due to the all encompassing America Dream. Those who are poor simply chose not to follow it, or are not white!

The American Dream promotes the same type of idealism of the Tory Party, where greed, selfishness, and elitism are considered acceptable, and its one that the Liberals and Labour are closely following.

A change is needed.
