cambridge bumps, class war, inequality, june 16th

After the excellent protest on Saturday I decided to see what additional write ups I could find and how they differ:

The local paper

http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/Home/Animal-rights-campainers-arrested-for-trying-to-hold-up-the-Bumps-16062012.htm

Ian Bone

http://ianbone.wordpress.com/2012/06/17/didnt-we-have-a-luverly-time/

Thurrock Heckler

http://thuraltmedia.blogspot.co.uk/2012/06/invading-enemy-turf.html

Cambridge Tab

http://cambridgetab.co.uk/news/bone-protests

The Cambridge Tab tries to make a mockery of our march, but we achieved what we wanted – the animal rights group hit the water and severly disrupred the bumps.

The phrase I will remember from the day is one female student vehemently stating that

I WORK REALLY HARD.

You work ethic has never been challenged but your attitude suggests that noone else in life works hard; deserve in not an adjective that should be used to justify your position at Cambridge.

It was a good day, upsetting the status quo for the privelidged few and meeting some wonderful comrades from Sheffield, Bury and kietly.

Walking back to the station we witnessed a lovely wedding photo opportunity.

The train is pulling off, next stop Cambridge. Will all passengers note that the hegemony and arrogance of Cambridge will be challenged.

I can’t believe how full the train is!

Waiting patiently (not my strong point) to set off to Cambridge. The first time I went to Cambridge (26 years ago) the people I were with looked at me in horror when I asked if Darwin was an atheist!
