A Song for Nick Clegg – and why not voting is the only option. Or Fuck Your Democracy

Yesterday ‘the i’ had an interview with Nick Clegg, and addresses people who don’t vote. I agree with him that there voting can be an important part of a process, if there is anything worth voting for – having three of the same thing is no real choice. The Liberals have also proven that voting is irrelevant as you can stand for one thing then do exactly the opposite once in power – Fuck your democracy Mr Clegg

I cried when they shot Medgar Evers
Tears ran down my spine
I cried when they shot Mr. Kennedy
As though I’d lost a father of mine
But Malcolm X got what was coming
He got what he asked for this time
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

I go to civil rights rallies
And I put down the old D.A.R.
I love Harry and Sidney and Sammy
I hope every colored boy becomes a star
But don’t talk about revolution
That’s going a little bit too far
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

I cheered when Humphrey was chosen
My faith in the system restored
I’m glad the commies were thrown out
of the A.F.L. C.I.O. board
I love Puerto Ricans and Negros
as long as they don’t move next door
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

The people of old Mississippi
Should all hang their heads in shame
I can’t understand how their minds work
What’s the matter don’t they watch Les Crain?
But if you ask me to bus my children
I hope the cops take down your name
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

I read New republic and Nation
I’ve learned to take every view
You know, I’ve memorized Lerner and Golden
I feel like I’m almost a Jew
But when it comes to times like Korea
There’s no one more red, white and blue
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

I vote for the democratic party
They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs
I’ll send all the money you ask for
But don’t ask me to come on along
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

Once I was young and impulsive
I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to the socialist meetings
Learned all the old union hymns
But I’ve grown older and wiser
And that’s why I’m turning you in
So love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal

What the fuck was behing Mr Clegg’s apology? As the country continues to decline and everyone has come to terms with the fact that the Liberals are just puppets, Mr Clegg decides to rub salt in the wounds of the party as he appears to be trying to kill the party’s credibility permanently.

WE LIED.

Yes Nick, we all knew you lied, the only saving grace was that perhaps, in some idiotic way, you believed that it could be true. Now you have smply reminded people that not only did you lie but you knew you were lying – the worst of it is it wasn’t even a good lie. You may have got into power if you said no taxation for a year but an increased public service but it appears that the Liberals aren’t even good at lying.

Oh the innocence of the not really knowing what they were doing; the bully boys of Etonian Oxbridge gang saw you coming.

I don’t really know what is worse, the actual lies or the people that voted for them.

Leveson: Will Cameron fluff his lines

It will be off no suprise when Cameron answers loads of questions with ‘I don’t recall’, after all this is a man who left his daughter in the pub. Expect to find out how incestuous the whole relationship is with Murdoch, Rebekah and the Government.

We all know the whole BskyB fiasco was probably screwed up by the ineptness of the Government, just like everything else they get involved in. Which leads me to the irony of the media ignoring Nick Clegg when he told Leveson that the media largely ignore him – take it as a compliment Nick, perhaps they know that a scoop is awaiting if they closely monitor Cameron, Osborne, Hunt, Brookes, Murdoch etc..

Clegg states that children who have free school meals are thick

Nick Clegg has unveiled a new initiative to help educate ‘those from poorer families’, placing a direct correlation between educational standards and wealth / class. There may be issues that need addressing with some pupils, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that those pupils are on free school meals. Also I’m certain teachers have enough work to do without having to jump through hoops to gain additional funding.

Is this a underhand way of seeing what schools present and cutting their funding if underperforming?

Nick Clegg New Year Message – I’d forgotten he existed

Clegg's mind on other thing than the economy?

Nick Clegg, whom Norman Tebbitt recently described as making even John Prescott looking good as a deputy PM, has given a video new year message to all the Liberal faithful –

….. that economic rescue mission is not over yet and there is much more we must do. That’s why, thanks to the Liberal Democrats, the government has been helping people get through these difficult times with measures to make life fairer and easier.

You could have fooled me Mr Clegg, fairness is not a word I would use. It comes to something that even the Archbishop of Cantebury has accused the rich and the bankers for not accepting their responsibilty in the part of the economic crisis. Dr Rowan Williams stated:

That confidence isn’t in huge supply at the moment, given the massive crises of trust that have shaken us all in the last couple of years and the lasting sense that the most prosperous have yet to shoulder their load

Even the church, that is usually blind to the plight of the working classes (don’t upset the status quo), has come out and encouraged a redistribution of wealth (of sorts), yet Nick Clegg is busy patting himself on the back.

Face it Nick the only thing you will be remembered for is destroying the Liberal Party!

Who would like a go in the house of Lords?

Nick Clegg has drawn a line in the sand and stated that the Libs will push through changes to the house of Lords to ensure that it reflects the democratic process of the commons. He has said:

Lloyd George described the Lords as being a ‘body of five hundred men chosen at random from amongst the unemployed’. To be honest it might be better if it was.”

What a fuckin great statement. With the house of commons being full of etonian oxbridge, it would be great if those who want to work (it is impossible to sustain 100% employment) but can’t get a job they could sit in the Lords – see it as jury type service. Although lords don’t receive a salary (as most of them are fucking rich and senile anyway) they may claim a daily allowance of £300 (or may elect to claim a reduced daily allowance of £150) per sitting day – but only if they attend a sitting of the House and/or committee proceedings. Also Members of the Lords do not pay tax on their allowances – this would be a great supplemental income.

Break the monopoly of privelidge and allow the country to be run by the country!

Unfortunately, before I get tooo excited with this thought, I’m certain Cameron will simply slap Clegg down and tell to stop being so silly.

If you want a truly democtratic country allow Mr or Mrs citizen to take their turn to keep the commons in check!
