So Mr Cameron says, if elected, the Tories will ensure that pensions increase in line with inflation. Fuck me, these people have paid into our country all their life and they should be grateful that the Tories won’t see them starve.

inA wonderful piece in the new issue of The Cunningham Amendment.
We’ve all been like saps buying into pension funds, mortgage trackers and obediently paying taxes to the state. They’ve taken the very clothes from our backs. They have left us for dead. Meanwhile big men in red braces have cleaned up and moved on.

…….as Renegade Soundwave sang. Cameron and Osborne, with their gang of Oxbridge Etonians and city bankers they are robbing people of their livlihoods & pensions, destroying towns and communities in their wake. Never has London been so gripped in fear since the Krays, Richardsons, Thatcher & Tebbit (Cameron and Osbourne would even rob Tebbits bike they are that callous). The IMF has stated that too severe cuts will destroy economies, and highlighted that it took countries decades to get over the debt from WWII, but Cameron and Osborne are only interested in lining the pockets of their own gang.
It might not be robbery but it’s a fucking disgrace!

inWhilst Danny Alexander has threatened to withdraw the offer if the strikes go ahead, George Osborne has defended the offer put to unions, stating that it is more than fair. Yes it is more than fair when compared to the majority of private pensions, which are just shit; it doesn’t make the offer fair. One of the biggest draws to working in the public sector is the benefits that they provide; you may not paid as much as if you were in the private sector but at least you had your pension, which is worth a lot. It’s funny how this is not mentioned.
Most of the comparisons regarding public sector and private sector are true, but this is not because the public sector pensions are overly generous. These are the type of pension schemes that many companies used to offer (some still do), until the greed of salesman took over convincing people that it is better to have a personal pension than a final salary scheme. Yes it is better for the consultant looking at his fat commission bonus but not for the member who gave up a guaranteed pension to gamble on the stock market.
The stock market is just like one big bookie, and they always say you never see a broke bookmaker!

It’s typical of a Tory Government by putting out that public sector pensions are gold plated and should be demonised. Yes they are excellent pensions but thats only because the private sector offer such shit pensions that are usually based on the stock market which only benefits the rich. Why should everything be brought down to the lower level.
The Private sector is notorious for being anti union, and getting away with minimum benefits for the workforce; just because final salary pension schemes have been deconstructed by greedy investment consultants for the benefit of the company, doesn’t mean this logic should be applied to the public sector. If you are that enraged about the perceived inequality between private and public sector, go get a job in the public sector.
The ballot results are due today, and although the Tories have tried to scupper the mandate by putting down a ridiculous offer, but already having implemented the move from RPI to CPI (which affects all final salary pension schemes, private or public sector), it is simply a smokescreen. Lets the public march on November 30th and let the Tories know that the deconstruction of the pension schemes won’t be taken sitting down.

inSo it appears that although the Tories are determined to increase the contribution rate for all public sector workers, but all MP’s have expressed outrage that this may apply to them. They have stated that any rise in contribution rate to their pension scheme would be unfair!
I suppose it’s only fair because they can’t fiddle their expenses anymore.
