Ed Milliband won’t change a fucking thing.

So Ed states his new policies will change the shape of politics and the Labour Party……….laugh, I nearly voted Tory. Getting rid of Union support will only make Labour more appealing to the heartless business classes, and is aimed at creating the longevity of Labour rule as opposed to creating a fair representative party.

Politics shouldn’t be for politics sake, it is for the community to be represented; Thatcher and then Blair have turned the whole process into voting for a party as opposed to the individual. Politicians should simply be the tools of the community; a method of wading through the bureaucratic shit not simply a career like a plumber or electrician.

Unions are more representative of grass roots workers issues than any politician and it will be a big mistake for labour to keep breaking there links.

imagesOh the irony that Di Canio got sacked for being a brutal dictator despite his PR upon appointment that he had nothing to do with fascism. As in any industry, football being no different, if you are being treated like shit by your boss the only power you have is too stand together and challenge them.

I wonder if Ed Milliband is watching, after stating that small firms will pay lower taxes. Perhaps his distancing Labour from the unions is to protect the small capitalist and help fuck (exploit) the workers. The only power we have is the power to unite.

Is the Liberals experiance of the Tories driving them further left.

Vince Cable and others have made it clear that they do not see themselves colluding with the Tories again, and may even end the coalition early. Probably quite wise to distance themselves from the evil selfishness that omits from the Tory Party.

Whilst on paper the Liberals look more radical than the Labour Party, they now have form for not doing what they promised – just ask the students. The biggest way forward for the Liberals would be to woo the unions, reinvent themselves as a party for the working classes, striding into grounds that Labour now fear to tread.

If you didn’t think British Politics, especially the Labour Party is jobs for the boys then look at whose sons are aiming to enter Parliament in the next election. Euan Blair had already given up his job at Morgan Stanley to move to a more Government Friendly one.

So you see the future if Labour mapped ahead and I’m sure it has no consideration for the unions or the working classes.

If now isn’t the time for unions to pull their funding altogether from the Labour party and form a new party, I don’t know what is.

Is there anyone left for Ed to stick the knife in?

anarchy, ballot box, ed milliband, Unions

After having tasted the blood drawn from withdrawing his knife from his brothers back, Ed is now turning on the Unions. In principle this is appalling, the unions were the last real working class link that the Labour Party had that distinguished them from a party of mediocrity. However the Unions have changed as well, full of career men with big speeches but very little else; all too happy to keep the status quo. So to be fair Labour and the unions are still a good fit, as neither of them really represent the interests of the working class, let alone do anything that will actually improve their lives.

Will this make Labour more electable? Maybe but who do they represent, not people like me anymore.

I still believe that if 20% or less turned up for elections, how could the Govt say they were there by the will of the people. Spoiling your paper gets counted and gives the system a credibility, where as not voting at all is a dismissal of the system completely and a desire for something new. Apathy appears only due to the futility to what is put in front of you. Belief and confidence in the ballot box has been destroyed, now it needs to be highlighted more.

DON’T VOTE, DON’T SPOIL YOUR PAPER – LETS REDUCE THE VOTING POPULATION TO UNDER 20%.

On my recent journey along the path of classic labour songs I have just happened upon Ani Defranco who has reworked this classic song. Political music is not dead (well maybe in this country!)

Has progress been made or has the Union lost it’s bottle?

So the strike has been called off for tomorrow as the Union have said that significant progress has been made with the talks. Has it really or were they concerned with the application for sanctions to outlaw the strike. There is nothing worse than a union having power for powers sake.

I hope that their demands are in the progress of being met and the workers not being sold down the river due.

Olympics, redistribution of wealth, strike, Unions

As Immigration workers at Heathrow airport prepare to strike the day before the Olympic ceremony, you will hear lots of propaganda how Union bosses are rich fat cats bent on disrupting the country and won’t lose a penny of their money; how the ballot only really represents a small minority of union members; Toby Young in the Sun today saying all workers should be sacked if they strike and disgrace out country.

I say:

  • Union bosses do work tirelessly to stop exploitative capitalists screwing the working classes – a fair wage for the shit that they probably have to go through, often fighting actual Government policy – it is not a easy or a simple 9 to 5 job.
  • If a majority of the union didn’t vote, that’s their problem – the Tories aren’t stepping down because only 20% of the country actually voted for them
  • As far as sacking workers goes – just like Reagan did – Reagan was one of the most right wing politicians the world has known and may have taken the world to a nuclear war with Russia. I do hope that Toby Young finds himself in a job where he is screwed mercilessly by his employers and then is sacked when he tries to stand up for his rights.

It’s easy to piss on people when you live in an ivory tower!

Olympics, scab labour, strike, Unions

Members of Aslef train driving union have scheduled industrial action for 6, 7, and 8 August, right in the middle of the Olympics, as East Midlands Trains’ plans to reduce both its own and staff contributions to its pension fund from July.

In this age of where your state pension age is increasing and the Govt are encouraging you to have additional pension what a fucking stupid thing for East Midland to do. Of course the strike is going to be in the Olympics – minimum effort, maximum chaos. They talk of National Pride but what about national pride of respecting our workers.

Solidarity to all the workers on East Midlands trains and remember:

folk music, scab labour, Unions

This one stood out the most – Casey Jones Union Scab, a lesson that can be learnt by a lot of people:

The Workers on the S. P. line to strike sent out a call;
But Casey Jones, the engineer, he wouldn’t strike at all;
His boiler it was leaking, and its drivers on the bum,
And his engine and its bearings, they were all out of plumb.

Casey Jones kept his junk pile running;
Casey Jones was working double time;
Casey Jones got a wooden medal,
For being good and faithful on the S. P. line.

The workers said to Casey: “Won’t you help us win this strike?”
But Casey said: “Let me alone, you’d better take a hike.”
Then some one put a bunch of railroad ties across the track,
And Casey hit the river bottom with an awful crack.

Casey Jones hit the river bottom;
Casey Jones broke his blessed spine;
Casey Jones was an Angelino,
He took a trip to heaven on the S. P. line.

When Casey Jones got up to heaven, to the Pearly Gate,
He said: “I’m Casey Jones, the guy that pulled the S. P. freight.”
“You’re just the man,” said Peter, “our musicians went on strike;
You can get a job a-scabbing any time you like.”

Casey Jones got up to heaven;
Casey Jones was doing mighty fine;
Casey Jones went scabbing on the angels,
Just like he did to workers of the S. P. line.

They got together, and they said it wasn’t fair,
For Casey Jones to go around a-scabbing everywhere.
The Angels’ Union No. 23, they sure were there,
And they promptly fired Casey down the Golden Stairs.

Casey Jones went to Hell a-flying;
“Casey Jones,” the Devil said, “Oh fine:
Casey Jones, get busy shovelling sulphur;
That’s what you get for scabbing on the S. P. Line.”
