Yes it’s all fun and lovely as people generally are out there to raise money for a variety of good causes, however I do think it unfair that the new rules have eliminated some of the more extreme novelty runners. The new rules have meant that all runners have to finish the same day, but some people have chosen to run in full deep diving gear, or pushing a peanut with their nose.

26 and a bit miles is a fucking long way and if someone wants to compete in order to raise as much money, they shouldn’t be discouraged. How would this rule be imposed if the reason that the competitor wouldn’t be able to finish within the day, was due to their disability, or would that be patronisingly different.
