Apparently when the Communist Party of Great Britain decided to call it a day in 1991, there was a fund of over 4 million once all their proerty had been sold! The money has been put into various groups along the way but has found it’s way to fund Unlock Democracy. Full story on BBC website

It is quite ironic that a Communist Party made a fortune from buying and selling property, even though that wasn’t their intention.
