Something stuck in my mind over the North Staffs scandal. It was the bit about patients having to drink water from the flower vase. That reminded me of something we used to say in the old Solidarity about the conflict between doing your job and obeying the bosses. The bosses want nice presentable wards with flowers. So the flowers get water and the patients don’t.
Lovely on the outside just don’t scratch the surface!
