When has allowing the rich get richer ever helped the poorer aspects of society?

imagesEd Balls has been criticised for saying he would increase taxation for those who earn over 150,000 a year, as apparently this would be an attack on business and discourage investment. Bollocks.

  • A company usually invests with it’s company money and this is dealt with by corporation tax, so that’s not relevant, and will skew HMRC’s figures that are used as evidence that more tax is received when the rich are taxed less.
  • Also rich people buying foreign sports cars, luxury yachts and  holiday homes doesn’t help this economy.

If someone earns 150,000 a year, I’m not too concerned if they have to pay a little more to ensure that other aspects of society can have help when required.

Again its a case of Keynesian economics vs Friedman’s free market – one favours the rich and the other tries to even up the balance. How can 85 people have more money than the poorest half of the world – does that not strike you as a little fucked up?

We’ll make UK a ‘land of opportunity’, says Cameron, but for whom?

It’s easy to get swept away with Cameron and the myth that if you work hard you will get plenty of opportunity. What he really means there will be plenty of opportunity for those with money; tax breaks to encourage investment and increase profits. These are not what the working person needs, as greed is getting out of hand investment in the community for all should be encouraged, not individual greed.

tumblr_l8rrhsXJ8l1qb50y9o1_400He might as well shown the clip of Michael Douglas shouting ‘Greed is Good’ but without lifting the curtain of hindsight as to how we got into this situation in the first place. Lets face it the Lehman Brothers did alright whilst ruining the worlds economy. Why did the banks go belly up? Because Thatcher allowed them to invest their reserves, so when push came to shove there was nothing to fall back on.

Yes the country should work in surplus but there are more ways of getting a surplus then cutting lower paid roles, whilst presenting more opportunities for those at the top.

Yes the Tories will reward those who are hardworking, but only those who are not working hard for the country, only personal gain.

capitalism, death to Tesco, Marcuse

Yes I’m referring to Capitalism. As Marcuse suggested there wouldn’t necessarily be a need for a revolution as capitalism will eventually destroy itself.

Take HMV, whilst I have solidarity for those losing there jobs (I have just lost mine), HMV got what it deserved. For years it helped destroy the independent record store; commercial music was cheaper but anything more obscure you had to wait six weeks and pay a fortune. What goes around comes around; Play then Amazon does it cheaper and better, and no doubt something will put these companies out of business eventually.

There can only be one – the nature of a free market means every company is trying to behead every other company until one survives. The desolate high street is the product of capitalism not simply the recession, and corporations will continue to devour weaker competition.

Eventually the local shop will remerge once again but as a cooperative run by the community to exorcise the demon that is Tesco express.

Charles Ponzi: a master of irony?

Oh how I love Charles Ponzi – he is the embodiment of greed, selfishness and corruption that spreads itself through the capitalist system and fucks anyone it touches, yet they still don’t see it coming. The scheme is a product of greed to facilitate greed.

Although the scheme was developed in the 1920’s it is still a common practice, used by many to exploit a system that was designed to exploit. Nicolas Levene is one of the latest to be jailed for screwing the rich.

The stock market is an artificial product of the rich and greedy, full of snakes and vipers looking for their next innocent pray – that no honest person should knowingly enter.

After emails, texts and now phonecalls I have only one response:

Fuck off you ambulance chasing parasites

JE Cooper 20012

Whilst I don’t condone any financial institution ‘misleading’ their customers – if you take it that any large capitalist corporation will fuck you somewhere along the line you don’t get to upset – I fucking hate kangaroo firms that pop up to assist you with a claim and then screw you more than you were screwed in the first place.

Totnes vs Costa Coffee – let battle commence

capitalism, Coffee, Devon, local protest

If anyone has been to Totnes you know that it’s a lovely area full of small shops and cafe’s, with lots of homemade produce available, but know Costa have threatened to upset the balance by proposing to open up a shop.

You can take two point of views really – freemarket, capitalism, choice, prohibiting competitors to keep prices artificially high (I’m sure Costa will be mentioning all of these words

OR

The entrance of Costa will mean that Totnes has sold it soul and will need to prepare for the bastardisation of their lovely little town. Once one is there then other corporate leeches will not be far behind – big mac with a starbucks to go.

We thought of moving to Totnes once because the lifestyle looks so pleasant and the ethics of the place are a million miles away from the faceless corporations that takeover most towns. I am sure Tourism is a major factor in the economy of Totnes, and Totnes should not let Costa piss in their coffee pot.

On a personal note I fucking hate Costa as they no longer do a pot of simple filter coffee (I only drink mine black) and an Americano is not the same no matter what the fucking Costa whores say!

In support of Totnes – COSTA COFFEE FUCK OFF

Bank of England may be involved in the ‘Great Libor Swindle’.

bank of england, banking, capitalism, corruption

Marcus Agius, chairman of Barclays has resigned this morning resigned over the rate-fixing scandal. His departure has wiped billions off its value and threatening the position of chief executive Bob Diamond. However there is a belief that evidence exists that the Bank of England ‘advised’ them to cut the rate in a telephone conversation in 2008.

Its probably all smoke and mirrors in order create an inpenetrable fence aroung Bob Diamond who obviously is not going to do the honourable thing and commit Hari Kari, but if the Bank of England are involved it will truly show the true face of capitalism at it worst. A self perpetuating inustry that devises ways purely to make money for those involved.

Banking has become like freemasonary, a sect so sworn to secrecy that you have to sell the soul of your first born to be allowed in, but the more information that comes out is that banking is so corrupt and immoral with such high rewards but you probably had to sell the first born of your first born as well.

1%, 99%, capitalism, destroy capitalism

With all the occupy people claiming that they are the 99% and won’t tolerate corporate greed anymore – what the fuck did they think the bankers were doing all this time – investing responsibly and taking disabled children for nice fabulous holidays – they have always been greedy wankers out for nobody but themselves. Thatcher withdrew the  legislation that forced banks to keep a certain amount of capital in reserve as not to over stretch themselves, seeing as opportunities lost – loss of profit for the shareholders more like.

When will people accept that any company that exists within a capitalist society does nothing more than protect profit for the shareholders, usually at the expense of us. To wave a banner to say its unfair is pretty pathetic, as it is simply the nature of the beast. When was capitalism meant to have a conscience, that’s why so many of us have protested against it’s entire existence, not simply it’s nature.
