Good vs evil, or a chance for the church to get a piece of the action at 80% apr.
I thought they were meant to help people not screw them, even if it is less severe.
I can’t believe there is actually a name for the youth that all the politicians forgot – NEETS (18 – 24 year olds not in Employment, Education or Training). No matter which way you turn avenues have been blocked -education is now only for those who can afford it or want a massive debt, little industry, no apprenticeships, increases in prices in cost of living, benefit cuts – it’s not easy or fun being young, let alone trying to establish yourself as an individual. Oh I forgot , you can always go and work for free it will give you experience. I think they call it an internship, and you should be grateful that you are allowed in the building.
Finish school after being told you can be all that you want to be only to be kicked in the bollocks and told to go and live with your family. What happens if you don’t have a family, or in an abusive family where do you go where do you turn. There are lots of people who want to train / work in order to establish themselves in society but what a society we live in. Just like Thatcher before, this country is no longer investing in the future, only this time it is not housing, industry but people.
The system needs to change, we are simply flogging a dead horse. All parties are merging into the same dross who don’t give a fuck apart from maintaining their position in the commons. It is the embodiment of self perpetuated privilege and power. Parliament now is more akin to Gladstone and Disraeli days, all pomp with no concern for the welfare of the lower classes except in the form of religious based charity.
What is the point of democracy when there is no real choice.
or are you a man of the church, even worse, telling the idlers that they are good and holy as long as they give the church money, and the workers that life is shit but you will get your reward in heaven. They help maintain the status quo by fear of the wrath of a ‘merciful’ god.
Yes I am reading the Robert Tressell’s Ragged Trouser Philanthropist – a book I should have read years ago but somehow never got round to. Whilst Kropotkin’s Mutual Aid metaphorically proves how society should be naturally, Tessell depicts how society has manifested itself it an unequal state and how this is maintained.

Rumour has it that in order to show that we are all in it together, the Chancellor is going to put the red box on e-bay with all the money going to coffers. In a revolutionary budget speech the Chancellor is going to suggest that other historic factors be put on e-bay; the wool sack, a few pieces of art from the Commons, the Liberal party etc, and will encourage all rich folk to do the same.
It is also rumoured that with the success of sponsorship be prepared to see Nelson’s Column sponsored by The Sun (that should keep the Murdoch’s happy), the Queen sponsored by Shelter etc – nothing will remain sacred.
And because all the necessary revenue to cancel out the debt will be covered, he will invest in industry, NHS, the benefit system and reverse the cuts.
But on the other hand the rumour mill is often false and we are all probably more fucked than we were before he makes his speech. If they were a God it would have sent all ten plagues until Osborne relented……….passover.
Martin Luther King had a dream as well!
People love to talk, brag, boast, posture, rant, lecture, adise etc.. whether it’s political philosophy, religion, or simple rhetoric regarding a certain situation. It doesn’t matter how well read you are, how good a game you talk, how often you go to church actions will always speak louder than words. Just because legislation is in place it doesn’t stop people being sexist, racist or homophobic. Just what will career people do to advance – will Leveson stop journalists sourcing a scoop – lets face it the public desire for filth, scandal and gossip drives the media. How often will someone stab another in the back in order to advance in work / society.
Just what do you do to help make your local area a little better to live in, or make a person’s life a little more tolerable. Fuck giving to charity as that is a real cop out for those with money, a simple hello to a stranger (cliche’d I know) can initially make someone’s day a little better. The best of it is, its doesn’t cost any money – actually physically doing something, no mater how little doesn’t have to cost any money – it’s something that the fucking rich cannot take away from us – they can take away our integrity though. It’s the one thing that you can give your children no matter what your income!
When you lie, waiting for the sandman to come, just think about any positive differences that you made for your local area today no matter how small.
You need to put out the fire in your own back garden before you can tackle the world!
Jorge Mario Bergoglio now Pope Francis I, no wonder he was a majority vote as he ticks all the boxes. Opposed to abortion, euthanasia, and homosexuality, actually opposing legislation for same sex marriage calling it the devil’s work.
Whilst those issues on human rights are bad enough he has been accused of supporting the Argentine Dictatorship in giving them cover to persecute political prisoners – hiding them in his holiday home until the Inter-American Human Rights Commission had left.
Just as people should have the freedom of religion (although I think it’s stupid), religion should allow other people to have freedom as well.
