God Commands Right Because it is Right or Right is Right because God Commands it?

imagesWhat a fantastic evening – although very decadent. Six hours discussing lots of theological / philosophical concepts with my friend Stuart. A christian who believe in democracy (I’m sorry if that does you a disservice Stuart) discussing the best way forward for society and our children with a atheist anarchist – no punches held.

My brain is knackered – most the people I mix with have similar views or don’t like talking about thinks like this. Very refreshing to have the questions ‘and why do you think that’, and ‘why do you think that would work’ thrown at you.

What a fantastic night, by 1am I was completely drained. What excellent company – aways good to challenge your own beliefs.

The one consistent view was that Thatcher and Tory policy are the worst thing that could ever happen to society.

I have returned from Rome and no I don’t want a fucking umbrella.

When people ask ‘is an anarchist society possible’ – I always respond of course, however after wandering around Rome for a few days I fear that a fascist revival is more prominent than any move away from state involvement.

The city lives in the shadow of the Vatican, full of splendour and wealth but outside the city walls, the shanty towns can be seen. How people still revel in the faith of a church that is extremely wealthy but allows people to live destitute but out of sight.

Apart from Cameron, Osborne and Co threatening to take their ball home, if Scotland don’t play the right game they haven’t actually come up with any benefits of remaining in the Union.

It may be better for Scotland to remain within the UK, but after years of Thatcher, Blair and now these fucking clueless scum, I wished South Norwood could become Scottish with them.

This countries political system no longer has anything to offer working class people.

Jesus & Mo – Censorship is just wrong!

J&MCensorship of the arts is never right, and just creates more offence than censorship of the original offence was meant to resolve. Whether it is PMRC trying to restrict and ban music in the 90’s or the recent debate about the religious satire ‘Jesus & Mo”.

The cartoon was even censored by Channel 4 and the BBC – if religion is so wonderful surely it should just be able to turn the other cheek, and feel comfortable in their own faith rather than attacking others ‘non belief’. If you are a non believer, the fact that people do whatever the church tells them based on a story that relies on ‘blind faith’ and fear of a hell to self perpetuate the myth. To me, the fact that most wars are caused by different religious factors, willing to kill in the name of their supposed god (what a horrible concept that a so called god is happy for other people to kill in order to prove their faith). The most fucked up people I have ever met in this life are ones that have had catholicism forced upon them – completely screws them up!

The fact that religions can be so dogmatic, trying to cover up the contradictions within their doctrine (does the vatican encourage abuse by its inability), but they can’t take a open view of satire that hasn’t been designed to offend there narcissistic tendencies, but to amuse those who just try and lead a good life.

Should religion be taught in schools?

06 Sunday Oct 2013

Yes, but as a form of philosophy as opposed to fact; creationism has no place in an progressive education system. Whilst there has been debate that the quality of religious education is in decline in schools, is it really essential to ensure that your child has a good start in life.

Religion has no facts, except that it causes hatred, greed and conflict throughout the world, however it is wise to learn and understand the basis to a fundamental part of many communities or country’s make up. It is unfair to dismiss another’s point of view unless you have some basic understanding of  it’s origins and core beliefs.

We live in a free country and people should be allowed to express their views until they intend to oppress other people. To me this is where religion falls down, its dogma and belief structure cause its followers to judge other people based on core values that have no factual basis but have been distorted and manipulated over the years to ensure that it remains acceptable

As Assad accepts Putin’s proposal, Obama is left whispering to Cameron:

Oh lord our God
Help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells
Help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of the dead
Help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of the wounded
Writhing in pain

Oh lord our God
Help us to waste their humble homes in a hurricane of fire
Help us to wring the unoffending hearts of their widows with grief
Help us to turn them out with their children to wander the waste
Of their desolated land

We beseech thee o worthy lord
Blast their hopes and black the lines on their bitter pilgrimage
Make heavy their steps and water their way with tears my Lord
Stain the white snow with the blood of the woundeds’ feet my Lord
And we ask it in the spirit of war

A prayer for war, a prayer for war

For all the religious rich people – salvation will not be yours

Jesus Christ was a man who travelled through the land
A hard working man and brave.
He said to the rich “Give your goods to the poor.”
But they laid Jesus Christ in His grave.

Jesus was a man, a carpenter by hand,
His followers true and brave,
One dirty little coward called Judas Iscariot
Has laid Jesus Christ in His grave.

He went to the preacher,
He went to the sheriff,
He told them all the same,
“Sell all of your jewelry and give it to the poor,”
But they laid Jesus Christ in his grave.

When Jesus come to town,
all the working folks around
Believed what He did say,
The bankers and the preachers they nailed Him on a cross.
Then they laid Jesus Christ in His grave.

The poor workin’ people, they followed Him around,
They sung and they shouted gay,
The cops and the soldiers,
they nailed Him in the air,
And they laid Jesus Christ in His grave.

Well, the people held their breath when they heard about His death,
And everybody wondered why,
It was the landlord and the soldiers that he hired,
To nail Jesus Christ in the sky.

This song was written in New York City,
Of rich man, preacher and slave,
But if Jesus was to preach like He preached in Galilee,
They would lay Jesus Christ in His grave.

Woody Guthrie.

How brave and holy to throw acid in someones face – Religion is stupid part……….

08 Thursday Aug 2013

Events have been going on like this far to often, so called dedicated followers of Islam are taking upon themselves to throw acid in women’s faces. Katie Gee and Kirstie Trup are just the latest two. Just because these women are British there will be a big fuss, but the problem is far more reaching.

http://www.stopacidattacks.org

Do these women deserve punishment because they have managed to piss off god / Allah / Buddha (delete as applicable) – what a merciful god you must have.

Like all religion, incidents like this is just a action of someone who is really fucked in the head and has nothing to do with anything in any holy book. A cowardly malicious nasty way of making a point.

Now the world is more open EVERY country needs to be tolerant of other cultures whilst gently balancing the need for respecting inherent views. However any violent action in order to impose your view on others in just done by fucking cunts. I’m sure if there was a god they would be really proud!

Religions are just like political parties, all believing their views are more important and more righteous than anyone else’s – its why everything needs to change, a clean sweep, away with everything.
