Just a thank you to all my friends who have given me the confidence to write this blog, especially Ian Bone who helped me get the point of it all back! Does it make a difference, is it just some narcissistic way of entering the viral world, or can I change things. I don’t know but I have always believed in the domino effect. I may not change the world but several generations later might and if I can make one simple impact on someone to help create that initial ripple, then I will be happy. I have always classed myself as an anarchist – not with the black smoke stereotypical death & destruction imagery – but a belief in no form state just simple ‘mutual aid’, to quote the title of the book that literally changed my viewpoint of life (Peter Kropotkin). The nuts and bolts of how we get there will always be debatable but the simple view of how we could live is indisputable. When you start reading Antonio Gramsci, Michel Foucault & Hayden White, you become completely aware of how you can be controlled by the simple discourse that is used by the media, politicians, celebrities etc etc – everyone needs a filter to understand what is really being said.

I have always enjoyed listening to music, especially that that tries to break boundaries – sadly this appeared to be more rife in the 80’s – perhaps Thatcher was good for one thing! I came across this wonderful live footage of Stump the other day and it somehow reminded me of how I view life!

Communications Data Bill will be a bigger threat to our liberty then any terrorist organisation

So Theresa May thinks it acceptable for all our internet activity to be recorded and monitored, and I’m sure the same old ‘If you have nothing to hide then you have nothing to fear’ bollocks.

I do have something to hide, my privacy; I have the right to remain anonomous if I want to. Skype, and all internet phone convesrsations will be recorded – you could argue that they are pushing people to pay for privacy if you want it as an actual phone can only be tapped witha court order!

If this bill passes it will only just be the beginning, luckily it is only in draft form and already facing opposition from within the Tories themselves.

A message to Theresa May, as PJ Harvey sang “WHO THE FUCK!”

Is it necessary to know what you are protesting about?

The Occupy movement have never quite sat right with me, they have become entrentched in recent protests in a very short space of time, whilst other organisations / movements struggle to keep the momentum going. Apart from the appointed spokespeople when ever I have seen an occupy member asked what they are protesting about, you get ‘you know…world peace…..down with capitalism etc.

What do psychologists say – you can’t eat an elephant in one mouthful……whilst any protest for a better world is fantastic, I have begin to wonder if protesting has become the new trend – festivals are awfully expensive now you know. I am probably being unfair to a lot of the Occupy group but one protester on the news last night even justified wrecking public space in Tower Hamlets for the greater good!!!!!!!! Does this arguement stand if your goals aren’t achievable in the short term?

Is it important that you know what you are protesting about? Are numbers more important than belief?

Capitalism has been fought against for the last couple of hundred years and yet it remains strong, cut off one head and another two reappear, and the struggle will continue on the streets, in lecture halls, in literature, in the communities until it is defeated. However should the protest be fought by those who are actually persecuted by it’s existence; the Black Panthers never allowed any white people to join as they would fight for equality on their terms with people who actually struggle against racially inequlaity. Is it right that Capitalism gets defeated because middle class people have decided to join the struggle (do they smell the blood of the wounded beast) as many of them have profitted well from the system they now want to destroy? Will they be the ones to construct a different but just as oppresive system,…four legs good, two legs better etc…..

Full marks to the Occupy lot but I find their goals are always on the lips of every Miss World contestant……………world peace, happiness and a tidy house!

Until the means of production are in the sole control of those who work within it, equality will never exist. The way forward is always by changing the root of everything – your local community.

all tories are evil, clear objective, government, politics, stategic, status quo, Thatcher, tories, tory government, tory party

The Public Administration Select Committee  has stated that the Government lacks strategic thinking in it’s approach to its polities, it continued to state the aims of the coalition were “too meaningless to serve any useful purpose”. The Government have retorted stating it had “a very clear objective to bring down the deficit” and restore economic growth.

How vague is that, I think every Government this side of the war has had that as its agenda, no Govt is going to say ‘lets spend shit loads of money and destroy all of British Industry’…….wait a minute that what Thatcher did, although she didn’t actually say thats what she was going to do (unless you read between the lines)……lest I digress.

Throughout British History the Tory party have never had any long term agenda apart from to maintain the status quo of priveledge and power; a party of knee jerk reactionary policies to placate the core of their electorate but ultimately only favour the already rich and wealthy, never learning from any previous Governmental errors. The biggest fundamental change within the 20th century was the NHS, broughtin to benefit the majority of society, the fact that the Tories has ultimately destroyed it only goes to highlight whom their policies are aimed at.

Under a Tory Government history will always repeat itself.

‘Are you against same sex couples bringing up children’ she asked……………I suspect she wished she hadn’t.

Whilst drinking a refreshing beverage in our local public house, with my friend and associate Ian, a strangely dressed woman came and asked if we would support her campaign to stop two men or two women bringing up children. After a brief discuss about the concept of morality and whether God existed or not, I presented her with the possibility that myself and Ian were bringing up two children.

She just looked confused, stating it was wrong and then went on to tell us how the love of her life was in jail for racism and domestic violence.

It’s a strange world we live in!

a new beginning, golden jubilee, Hope, media, Olympics, politics, society, unemployment

Reading various other blogs and talking with friends / family about the political situation this country finds itself in, I’ve realised that the only thing positive left is hope. I didn’t want this blog to be ‘fuck this and fuck that’ (but it can be a bit like that), I just want to lift the blinkers away from people’s eye, let the scales fall away. I worry for my children and what will be available to them in the next ten years as everything is going to cost a fortune – further education, health service, food, fuel etc.. The economy has collapsed, but the world economy has collapsed not just ours, and the bankers aren’t the scapegoats – ask the Lehmen Brothers.

Whilst the Tories are busy blaming Labour for what was actually a world situation they are not addressing the real issues – if there are no jobs, then people can work, then less income for the Government. I would hate to be a teenager now; I always had the knowledge that there was work out there or I could go to Univesity on a full grant. The Olympics and the Golden Jubilee are just a smokescreen to cover up our failing society, with the Govt flogging a dead horse to stand up in all it’s glory as the world’s eyes are on us.

The UK population is over 62 million people, just what would the Government do if just half of that refused to do what they say; imagine over 30 million people saying a big FUCK you to the Government – we are not happy with the way society is going. Equality and justice appear to have left our constitution and it’s time to get them put back on the agenda; I have always admired those protesters who are willing to go to jail for their cause, but every person’s circumstances are different. I don’t know how or with what that people can become united and fight for our future, not for the future of the rich and privelidged.

We need something, we need hope that everything will be OK, that the battle isn’t useless it can be won.

Recently myself and a couple of good friends have set up the South Norwood Tourist Board, in a light hearted attempt to draw some attention and business towards our great area. In admist of a few people taking objection to one of our features, someone commented about the Tourist Board –

It has Jason Cooper written all over it – he’s a nice bloke but I think he needs to get himself a hobby……

and continued to infer that it is a complete waste of time.

My answer to the person who posted the comment is – I have a hobby, by playing my part in establishing a liberatarian sociey, freedom and justice for all; educating my children that they should fight for what they believe and simply watch the world go by.

The council don’t give a fuck about our area, so we are trying to do something about it.

No gods, no masters.

Will Obama punch Cameron really hard and dissolve the ‘special relationship’?

first black president, politics

"You really are a wanker, David"

Winston Churchill fist coined the phrase ‘special relationship’ as he thought the Anglo-American connection was critical to maintaining the peace of the world in this new Cold War era. Thatcher and Reagan shared the same dogmatic view that the free economy was vital and apartheid should continue, not doubt Tony Blair and Bill Clinton played Jazz together or joked how they were both decieving the public.

However Obama should tell Cameron to fuck off and take his privelidge with him. Obama is the first black president of the USA, a country where the south still had segregation laws 50 years ago; Cameron is another etonoan prime minister who wants to priveleged (white) class to keep ruling the country. Obama is bringing in health reform, that appears to be based on the NHS principles, due to the belief that any other system leaves many vulnreable; health shouldn’t be based on how rich you are. Cameron wants to turn our health service into one more like America are trying to get rid off.

Perhaps Obama is taking Cameron on Air Force One in order to kick him out and do the world a favour. I’m sure the rest of Europe would welcome it as well.
