Believe it or not, and whether people like it or not, having an element of people that do not want to work is actually a necessity within any successful economy. It is also a complete paradox that the Tories talk about a free market with no state intervention, yet will happily use any power possible to dictate what the working class should be doing, as any consequence has little impact on the rich.
If you read any economics, full employment is not actually a figure, it is an acceptable balance between inflation and unemployment. Full employment will push inflation through the roof, forcing an increase in interest rates, meaning many will lose there homes if they bought within a housing bubble. Most other aspects of the 80’s have been recreated by this Government so why not negative equity.
Frankly, there was not enough pressure to get a job. Some people could just sign on and get almost as much money staying at home as going out to work
The ‘Help to Work’ scheme or ‘Creating a slave market’ scheme, anyone out of work for more than three years will be degraded and belittled, having all staff in the job centre point and laugh whilst poking you with a big stick whilst handing out menial jobs so you don’t lose your benefits. Job Centre staff will at least fill their potential of becoming judgemental bureaucratic cunts, they may even give you a coloured star to wear! Absolute power etc
Osborne is just deluding the pubic that the issues will all be resolved if everybody was working and we had no public sector. Every country in the world envies of welfare system and NHS, if anything tax should go up to keep it alive and kicking.
A change is needed but I doubt if it will come from the ballot box!
