It has been reported that booking for London hotels is down by 35-40%, which is no surprise as some of their prices are 4 times higher than they were last year.

To couple that, air fares, train fares and Eurostar have all increased their prices to exploit the potential demand for travelling to the capital.

On a personal note, my daughter Lily cannot ho on her annual trip in August to stay with her Grandparents as the prices have made it impossible for us to afford the train fares.

With the Jubilee and Olympics all Britain is showing that we are good at exploiting a situation for our own means, financially or public relations. Which also a good link to my last post talking of jingoism and imperialism.
