Whoever the 175 were…….shame on you and hope your children point at you and say bigot.
Society has changed and it would an absolute joke if this bill wasn’t passed. There was a wonderful article by Irvine Welsh in the indepenedent on Sunday remarking how Danny Boyle reminded this country how it used to be, but it was pure nostalgia.
The past will never be nor should it be recreated but change is needed to reflect the ever changing society and culture.
Where is Gerald Winstanley when you need him!
Interesting that most anarchist and progressive blogs have supported Cameron who is claiming he speaks for the people. As for me, I am an anarchist who is suspicious when reforms and change are advocated by a Government leader supported by the mainstream media. Something fishy about this debate, which requires cynicism.
I completely agree and do remain cynical. I believe it’s Cameron ‘giving’ to the Liberals before he gets the Liberals to support him on more oppresive measures. However it doesn’t take away that this legislation simply puts into law something that the Tories have never really recognised. Either a brave move or simple pragmatism for a more sinister result.
Time will telll.
